THE DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY and LABOUR STUDIES PROGRAM AT SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR A LIMITED TERM LECTURER POSITION IN HISTORY AND LABOUR STUDIES BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2012

The Department of History and the Labour Studies Program are seeking to fill a three year limited term appointment at the lecturer's level. The successful candidate will teach four courses a year in History and two in Labour Studies.
Qualifications include PhD or ABD, and demonstrated ability and experience in teaching first-year Canadian history survey courses, upper level History courses, and upper and lower level courses in Labour Studies. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to innovative teaching, notably experiential learning and participatory teaching in Labour Studies, and some experience in designing new courses. Experience with Distance Education courses is an asset. While this is a teaching position, evidence of scholarly activity in history or labour studies is preferred.
